Frugal Father Finds Family Atmosphere
As young parents we often find ourselves looking for ways to entertain the kids each weekend. Trips to the park, cinema or swimming all wear thin after a while and this is the point I had reached last September. The premier league had just resumed after the summer holidays and my then excited 6 year old daughter started asking if we can go to watch the team i have followed since i was younger than her, Arsenal. For some strange reason the prospect of spending hundreds of pounds to be disappointed in person didn't appeal to me, so tongue planted firmly in cheek I tell Scarlett I have a better team for us to watch. TOOTING & MITCHAM UNITED!
Fast forward a year and my tongue is back where it belongs. The Terrors are a team in form and Arsenal are as unpredictable as ever. In the last 12 months Scarlett and I have seen Tooting play at imperial fields upwards of 20 times now. We saw enough quality last season to buy a season ticket each and look forward to trotting through the turnstile as often as possible. So what keeps us coming back? Is it the quality of the football being played? the friendly faces of the fans? how welcome we're made to feel by players and staff alike? Or is imperial fields now firmly in our hearts? Simply put it's all the above, and more.
We no longer have to find a way to fill our Saturdays.
We are Terrors, that's what we do now.
